Dietary Substitutions for Ultimate Kids Cook-Off

Gluten-Free
Build-a-Burger >> Use a gluten-free hamburger bun.
Create-a-Cupcake >> Use gluten-free flour.

Egg Allergy
Create-a-Cupcake >> In place of 2 eggs, make 2 flax eggs (2 Tbsp flaxseed meal + 5 Tbsp water)  Combine the ingredients and let stand for 5 minutes in the refrigerator before adding into the recipe.
Surprise Scramble >> In place of Steps 3-4, drain 1 (14 oz.) block firm tofu. Crumble and season with salt and pepper. Alternatively, you could use Follow Your Heart’s VeganEgg in place of the eggs.  For 6 eggs, combine ¾ cup VeganEgg with 3 cups of water. Resume Step 4, omitting the milk.

Dairy Allergy

Surprise Scramble >> Use dairy-free milk, butter, and cheese.

Vegetarian
Build-a-Burger >> Use a meatless hamburger patty, such as Beyond Meat’s Beyond Burger. Deconstruct the ready-made patties, add spices and re-form into patties.
Surprise Scramble >> Omit the meat or use meatless sausage or Torfurky slices.

Vegan
Build-a-Burger >> Use a meatless hamburger patty, such as Beyond Meat’s Beyond Burger. Deconstruct the ready-made patties, add spices and re-form into patties.
